When I host a dedicated server, I try to limit the max number of players, but it doesn't seem to work!
Anyone else has a similar issue?

Actually my dedicated server always supports 18 users as default!
But due to bandwidth, I like to limit to around 8 or less!

本人英文比較差,嘗試理解...
sv_visiblemaxplayers 18<--呢個係控制返你睇到既人數..即係你打18 系openserverbrowser睇到就會係18...如果你set少d就會顯示少d
l4d_maxplayers 10<--呢個指令先係真正控制你既人數上限,如果你上面打18...下面打10實際上只係可以入10個...

While u see the X/18 of user in yr dedicated server is not meant that there will be 18 players enter yr game.
By the default setting of valve, the coop game of L4D is only 4 players can join yr server to play the game. The versus game is max. of 8 players. Thus u don't hv to worry about too many player join yr server.
By the way, did u add the plugins in the addons file?
