I've received this error one time, randomly. I just did a quick searchon google and steam support and found a few people who had experiencedthe same problem, but no one with a definitive solution.

The interesting thing was that most of the people who had the problem weremap-makers, so it leads me to believe there's some sort of bug you canintroduce with a poorly made map. I would guess that the bug can evenappear (sparingly) on the Valve maps. Perhaps some people's connectionsare more prone to the error/bug than others.

I'd say it's definitely a connection issue, and I do have one suggestion: try the stuff at the bottom of this steam support page. I know it's for a slightly different issue, but it might help anyways.

One more suggestion. If the error happens again, check the console tosee what happened leading up to the error. You might see some otherproblems that can lead you to an answer.

Shut down all unnecessary programs on your computer before playing. (關一些沒用的程式
Disconnect all other computers in your household to see if they are causing the problem. (關屋企的其他電腦
Scan all computers on your home network for virus/trojan and spyware. (掃毒
If you are running on a wireless network, try connecting using a direct ethernet cable and see if the problem goes away. You will probably have to disable the "Wireless Zero" service while you are playing as well. (如果係無線上網, 試下用乙太網絡(咩黎).... 如果之後玩得順好可能係取消左Wireless Zero(又咩黎)
Follow recommended tuneup procedures for your 56K modem connection (but expect this error to happen from time to time with analog modems). Dr Tweak's Advanced 56k help guide (係STEAM FAQ睇連WEBSITE都冇左....所以唔翻譯
The default rate is 3500 to 5000 for 56K Modem, 7500 for DSL and 9999 for Cable/T1 you should use the appropriate setting for your connection. You set this in your game console (~ typically) by entering:

佢話咩乙太網絡可能係唔好用無線,插番條lan線....
